Coaching at PSA

Our Approach

01

Developing Swimmers

At PSA, we believe in coaching with purpose, passion and integrity. We strive to create a positive and supportive environment where swimmers can build their skills, confidence and character.

Through encouragement, positive reinforcement and consistent feedback, we help every swimmer understand their progress and what to focus on next.

02

Developing Coaches

We also believe that great coaches mentor future coaches. As swimmers gain experience, confidence and a strong foundation in the sport, we encourage them to begin learning through volunteer coaching. This gives them the opportunity to develop leadership skills, discover their own coaching style, and gain valuable experience in a safe and supportive environment while also giving back to the swimming community.

After gaining coaching experience, completing the required lifesaving certifications, and receiving approval from Head Coach Phil, volunteers may be invited to join our coaching staff in a paid role with greater responsibilities.

At PSA, we believe coaches never stop learning. That’s why we actively mentor both our volunteer and paid coaches through regular feedback, hands-on guidance, and ongoing coaching development.

By investing in our coaches, we ensure they continue to grow in their knowledge, confidence and ability to provide the best possible experience for every swimmer.

Coaching is a joy, an honour and a privilege.

Holding this context helps children learn faster!
